Trump Administration’s Pitch For Psychedelic Drugs

President Donald Trump signed an executive order to accelerate research and access to psychedelic drugs, including ibogaine, which remains a Schedule I substance. He said the move would “dramatically accelerate” treatments for severe depression and added, “If these turn out to be as good as people are saying, it’s going to have a tremendous impact.” At the Oval Office event, Trump joked, “Can I have some, please? I’ll take some.” Joe Rogan said he texted Trump about ibogaine and received: “Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let’s do it.”

The Food and Drug Administration will fast-track approvals to weeks and prepare US ibogaine trials. Ibogaine shows promise for PTSD, addiction and depression but carries heart risks and over 30 linked deaths. Other psychedelics like psilocybin, MDMA and LSD remain federally illegal despite ongoing res

Louisiana Man Kills Eight Children In Mass Shooting

In Louisiana’s Shreveport, a man killed eight children, including seven of his own, in a shooting early Sunday around 05:00. Victims, aged roughly one to 14, were found across multiple locations after what officials called a “domestic disturbance”. Two adult women, including Shamar Elkins’ wife, were critically injured, and another child was hospitalized after jumping from a roof while escaping. “We do believe him to be the only individual that fired gunshots,” police said.

After the shootings, Elkins fled in a stolen vehicle; officers pursued him into Bossier Parish and opened fire, killing him. Family members said he was distressed over a divorce and mental health struggles. Mayor Tom Arceneaux called it “maybe the worst tragic situation we’ve ever had”.

Can We Not Sit With Our Thoughts Anymore?

We’re increasingly unable to sit quietly with our own thoughts, replacing silence with constant input. Much has been made of screen addiction, but audio now fills that gap, capturing hours of daily attention with far less scrutiny. Americans listen to nearly four hours of audio daily, with podcast use at record highs, according to Edison Research. Constant, on-demand access to music, podcasts and other audio can make listening habitual, driven by rapid dopamine rewards.

Experts say audio can help concentration by masking distractions, but excessive use may reduce time for reflection and mental processing. Some people report irritability, anxiety or boredom when audio stops, a response linked to overstimulation. Psychologists say the behavior exists on a spectrum and becomes problematic when it affects mood, relationships or the ability to function without constant input..

Insider Trading Allegations Looming Over Trump’s Presidency

Unusual trading spikes have repeatedly appeared just before Donald Trump’s major announcements, especially around oil, stocks, and geopolitical events. In multiple instances, large bets were placed minutes before market-moving statements on war, tariffs, or diplomacy became public. Some analysts say this pattern resembles insider trading, while others argue traders are simply anticipating his moves. Regulators have not confirmed investigations, and proving misconduct remains difficult under existing laws.
