Trump Fires Bondi, But Epstein Subpoena Looms

President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday after months of frustration over her handling of the Epstein files. In a social media post, Trump said, “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector.” He added that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as acting attorney general. Who is Todd Blanche?

Bondi had been in the role for 14 months. Her tenure included scrutiny from Congress over the Epstein investigation and a subpoena request for her testimony. Responding to the news, Bondi said, “Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history.” She added that she would be moving into a private-sector role.

Space

To The Moon…

The four astronauts of Artemis II spoke from space on day two of their mission around the Moon, on one of NASA’s first crewed lunar flyby in more than 50 years. Commander Reid Wiseman said, “You can see the entire globe from pole to pole… It was the most spectacular moment.” Watch.

The crew — Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen — completed a key engine burn sending Orion toward the Moon. The 10-day mission will travel about 252,799 miles from Earth, surpassing the Apollo 13 record, but will not land on the Moon.

So, despite macro turmoil, the art market has been trending up.

U.S. auction sales jumped 23.1% last year. The $1mm-$5mm segment grew 40.8% in value.

Few people know this. But postwar and contemporary art grew 10.2% annually with near-zero correlation with the S&P 500 over the last 30 years.*

Hegseth Fires Army Chief; US Hits Iran’s Civilian Infrastructure

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired Army chief Gen. Randy George, who had led the service since 2023. Officials said the move followed ongoing internal tensions and leadership disputes. At the same time, Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 35% since US strikes on Iran, according to YouGov and The Economist polling.

As the conflict disrupts global oil flows, Iran and Oman are drafting a protocol to coordinate and supervise tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which has seen major disruption during the war. Meanwhile, US forces struck the B-1 bridge in Karaj twice — marking the first attack on major civilian infrastructure. After the attack, Trump posted, “The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down… Much more to follow.”

WEIGH IN

Offices are meant to boost productivity but what if they’re quietly making people sick? From headaches and brain fog to nausea and rashes, “sick building syndrome” is pushing some employees out of workplaces altogether. Women, in particular, report higher sensitivity, though causes remain unclear. With return-to-office pressures rising, the question isn’t just about where we work—but whether those spaces are actually safe, comfortable, and built for everyone.
