End of an Era for PCOS
In a historic move for women’s health, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has been officially renamed polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS). The change, announced May 12 in The Lancet, follows a decade-long push to correct a century of medical "confusion."
"The name PCOS didn’t capture the multi-system burden," says Dr. Helena Teede, who spearheaded the global effort. While doctors once focused solely on the "cysts", which are actually eggs in arrested development, research now confirms the disorder is a complex hormonal imbalance affecting metabolism and heart health. Patient advocate Rachel Morman notes the old name led many to believe they had simple ovarian cysts. Experts hope the PMOS rebrand will "change practice," shifting treatment from purely reproductive goals to comprehensive metabolic care.

Trump Proposes Gas Tax Pause With Inflation At Three-Year High
President Donald Trump proposed a federal gas tax suspension on Tuesday as a "relief" for Americans facing $4.50-a-gallon fuel prices fueled by the 10-week-old war in Iran. The proposal comes as the Labor Department reported a 3.8% surge in consumer prices, the sharpest jump in three years. With his approval rating hitting a record low of 37% in a new NPR/PBS News/Marist poll, Trump dismissed economic concerns regarding the war.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon revealed war costs have hit $29 billion, even as the current ceasefire sits on “life support.” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned Congress that the US is ready to resume attacks if negotiations fail. “We’re either going to make a deal or they’re going to be decimated,” Trump told reporters. The proposed tax holiday requires congressional approval to address the 18.3-cent-per-gallon federal levy.
The Architecture Behind AI-Native Revenue Automation
In our new white paper, The Architecture Behind AI-Native Revenue Automation, Tabs CTO Deepak Bapat breaks down what it actually takes to apply AI to revenue workflows without breaking the books.
You’ll learn why probabilistic reasoning isn’t enough for finance, how Tabs pairs LLMs with deterministic logic, and why a unified Commercial Graph is the foundation for scalable, audit-ready automation. From contract interpretation to cash application, this paper goes deep on where AI belongs—and where it absolutely doesn’t.
If you’re evaluating AI for billing, collections, or revenue operations, this is the architecture perspective most vendors won’t show you.

The Quest for Perfect Physique Going Too Far
Forget the "hot girl summer" — it’s officially the era of the "looksmaxxed" man, and things are getting wild. From child actors trying to sculpt the "perfect jawline" to high schoolers hiding packages from their parents, young men are falling down a rabbit hole of unregulated peptides and testosterone (TRT).
Think of peptides as the body’s "signaling molecules". They’re like text messages telling your muscles to grow or your skin to tan. But here’s the catch: many are sold via an online "gray market" labeled "for research only". As one lawyer put it, it’s a game of "Whack-A-Mole" between the FDA and sellers. Meanwhile, TRT prescriptions have exploded to 12 million annually, fueled by influencers who treat testosterone like a status symbol.
The risks? Disproportionate growth (hello, giant jaw and feet!), fluid on the brain, or even cancer. As Dr. Ava Shamban warns, buying these online is like "playing blackjack with your health." Stay safe out there, fellas, sometimes "touching grass" is better than injecting it.

Cities are turning to AI-powered vehicle cameras to detect potholes, broken signs, graffiti, and other street problems before residents report them. Companies like Waymo and Samsara say connected cars and trucks could help cities fix infrastructure faster and more efficiently. Supporters call it smart urban planning, while critics wonder whether constant street-level surveillance is becoming normalized in everyday life.
