Netflix To Buy Warner Bros In $83 Billion Deal

Netflix is set to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery’s studio and streaming business in an $82.7 billion cash-and-stock deal that could reshape Hollywood. The move would give Netflix control of major franchises like Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and Friends, while expanding its content library and theatrical influence. Classic movies and shows that Netflix would own now.

The acquisition follows a heated bidding war and is expected to close after Warner Bros. spins off its cable networks in 2026. Everything to know about the deal. Netflix argues the combination will improve consumer value, but critics, including lawmakers and Hollywood unions, warn the deal could create a streaming monopoly, reduce competition, hurt workers, and raise prices. Would Trump try to block the deal?
