Two Wounded In ICE Shootings In Portland, Oregon
Federal immigration agents shot and wounded two people during a vehicle stop outside a Portland hospital on Thursday, a day after an ICE officer fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. DHS said agents fired after the driver attempted to run them over, wounding a driver and passenger who later sought help nearby, according to Portland police. Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield said his office would investigate.
In Minnesota, state officials said the FBI blocked state investigators from evidence in Good’s killing, prompting Minnesota authorities to withdraw from the probe. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz put Minnesota National Guard on alert.

Senate Moves To Block Trump From Further Military Action In Venezuela
The Senate voted 52–47 on Thursday to advance a War Powers Resolution aimed at blocking President Donald Trump from taking further military action in Venezuela without congressional approval. The vote came days after Trump authorized an operation that captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
The measure, sponsored by Sens. Tim Kaine and Rand Paul, would require Congress to approve future military action. Five Republicans joined Democrats. Trump criticized those senators on Truth Social. Supporters said the Constitution gives Congress war powers, while the administration has characterized the Maduro operation as law enforcement, not war.

People pleasing can look polite on the surface, but experts say it often comes from avoiding discomfort, rejection, or conflict. Therapists argue that constantly putting others first can lead to resentment, burnout, and relationships where your real needs are invisible. A new guide suggests starting small by pausing before saying yes, practicing softer ways to say no, and even using body language to assert boundaries. The idea is to build “microboundaries” that protect your time, energy, and emotional well-being.
