Trump Administration Links Tylenol With Autism

President Donald Trump on Monday suggested a link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy, vaccines, and autism, claims that contradict decades of scientific evidence. At a White House event alongside Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump urged pregnant women to avoid Tylenol unless medically necessary, saying, “Don’t take Tylenol. Don’t take it.” He also called for vaccines to be spaced out rather than combined, arguing children should not receive multiple shots at once. What to know about Tylenol.

Medical experts, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, denounced the remarks as unfounded and potentially harmful. Numerous large-scale studies have found no causal link between acetaminophen use and autism. Britain’s health regulator reiterated Monday that paracetamol — acetaminophen’s generic name — is safe for pregnant women.

The announcement rattled markets, sending shares of Kenvue Inc., Tylenol’s manufacturer, down 7.5% before recovering in late trading. Kenvue strongly rejected Trump’s claims, emphasizing “independent, sound science” confirms the drug’s safety. Trump also announced upcoming federal autism research grants and promoted leucovorin, a folate-based drug, as a possible treatment — though researchers caution evidence remains limited. What is leucovorin? The remarks underscored the administration’s growing challenges to established medical guidance.

Jimmy Kimmel Is Back on ABC

ABC announced on Monday that ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ will return to air on Tuesday, ending a weeklong suspension that stirred fierce debate over free speech and government influence on media. Read full statement. Disney, ABC’s parent company, said production was halted to avoid “further inflaming a tense situation,” citing concerns that Kimmel’s earlier comments on the shooting of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk were ill-timed. How comedians and politicians reacted

The suspension came after Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr criticized Kimmel’s remarks as misleading and warned of potential regulatory “remedies.” Disney executives, including CEO Robert Iger, met with Kimmel throughout the week before agreeing on terms for his return. Kimmel, however, did not alter his planned monologue.

The move drew backlash across Hollywood, with unions, writers, and fellow late-night hosts condemning Disney’s decision as corporate capitulation. What Jon Stewart said. Even some conservatives, including Senator Ted Cruz, criticized Carr’s comments as overreach. Meanwhile, Sinclair, which owns several ABC affiliates, said it would not air Tuesday’s broadcast. Disney now faces pressure from both critics and customers, with the show’s return expected to be one of late night’s most closely watched episodes in years.

Marriage Isn’t A Priority Anymore, Financial Stability Is

Marriage has shifted from being a cornerstone of adult life to a capstone achievement, increasingly tied to financial security. For many younger Americans, stability is no longer something built after marriage but a prerequisite for it. Couples like Ryan and Amanda Dona, who bought a home and advanced in their careers before marrying, see weddings as a marker of success rather than a starting point. Researchers call this the “capstone model,” a departure from the earlier tradition of marrying young and building a life together.

This shift is raising the average age of first marriages, now 30 for men and 29 for women. While waiting often produces more stable unions, it has also contributed to falling marriage rates, especially among less-educated and lower-income groups. Experts warn that the high bar for financial readiness can leave many feeling marriage is unattainable.

The trend also reinforces economic divides, with marriage most common among the college-educated and wealthier families. As economist Melissa Kearney notes, today’s marriages often consolidate wealth, further widening inequality. Marriage, once universal, is increasingly becoming a marker of privilege.

Shoes can track in bacteria like E. coli and MRSA, transferring them onto home floors. While that sounds alarming, experts say illness from shoe-borne germs is unlikely. Some still prefer going barefoot indoors for cultural, health, or cleanliness reasons, while others argue shoes provide safety and comfort. So is it really worth banning shoes at home?
