Same Yogurt, Same Store — Six Different Prices
Nearly 200 volunteers in four US cities tested Instacart prices on 20 grocery items and found frequent differences for identical products from the same stores. In one Washington, DC, test, shoppers selecting the same Safeway eggs at the same time saw prices ranging from $3.99 to $4.79.
The study, run by the Groundwork Collaborative and Consumer Reports, found price variations on about three-quarters of items. Groundwork’s Lindsay Owens called the discrepancies “extraordinarily pervasive.” Instacart said retailers set prices and some conduct short-term randomized pricing tests. Target said it doesn’t control Instacart pricing.

Did We Really Need A Toilet Camera To Analyse Poop?
Bathroom fixtures maker Kohler introduced the Dekoda, a $599 toilet-mounted camera that photographs stool to analyze gut health, hydration, and detect blood. The device clamps to the toilet rim and, according to Kohler, “sees down into your toilet and nowhere else”.
The device uses spectroscopy to assess waste and tracks frequency, consistency, and shape, The Verge reports. Urine is analyzed for hydration, with results shared through the encrypted Kohler Health app. Users verify identity through a fingerprint scanner on a wall-mounted remote. The subscription costs $6.99 per month for one user or $12.99 for up to five.

WEIGH IN

A new McKinsey and Lean In report warns that women in corporate America are losing ground. Fewer companies now prioritise women’s advancement, DEI efforts are shrinking, and return-to-office mandates are squeezing mothers hardest. The data shows a new ambition gap emerging, with women reporting burnout, limited opportunities, and declining confidence in their upward mobility. Even companies that historically championed gender equity are pulling back, raising concerns of a deeper cultural and corporate retreat.
