AI Data Centers Face Major Backlash As Climate Threat Persists
Global tech infrastructure is facing an unprecedented backlash as new data reveals artificial intelligence’s environmental footprint will equal the water needs of 1.3 billion people by 2030. According to a United Nations University report, large data centers consume up to 5 million gallons of water daily. Experts warn focusing solely on carbon emissions ignores critical water and land degradation.
To combat this strain, local governments are aggressively halting development. In California, Monterey Park voters overwhelmingly passed a ballot measure banning data centers, with 86% approval. Concurrently, Seattle city committees unanimously advanced a one-year construction moratorium to protect residents from soaring utility costs, while a massive 40,000-acre project in Utah by a Shark Tank star was just forced to downsize by half amid pressure from lawmakers.

RFK Jr Wants To Know Everything About You…r Medical Records
US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is quietly pushing for federal access to Americans’ private medical records to investigate a thoroughly debunked link between vaccines and autism. (A theory which experts have already discarded) According to a KFF Health News report, the Department of Health and Human Services is pressuring little-known state networks to hand over detailed, identifiable patient histories, including doctor notes and prescriptions.
While public health leaders have raised massive legal and privacy alarms, Nebraska’s state exchange has already secured millions in CDC grant money to assist with the project. Kennedy's team has faced fierce pushback from states like Maryland, which flatly refused to share data, warning that the federal overreach lacks clear guardrails to protect personal health information.

Where to Invest $100,000 Right Now, According to Experts
Investors face a dilemma. When the S&P 500 finished its worst quarter since 2022 last month, diversifiers like bonds and bitcoin fell too.
Even with the turnaround in mid-April, analysts at Goldman Sachs and Vanguard have projected low-single-digit annualized returns from 2024-2034.
Bloomberg asked where experts would personally invest $100,000 for their March monthly edition.
One answer that surfaced for a second time? Art.
It's what billionaires like Bezos and the Rockefellers have privately used to diversify for decades.
Why?

Everyone’s Doomscrolling Now
Ever blink and realize you’ve been mindlessly scrolling for an hour? You’re not alone. A new Cambridge University report reveals that adults spend an average of four hours a day on their phones, and over a third of that time is completely unintentional. Psychotherapists are sharing twelve ways to break your doomscrolling habit.
Dubbed the "Age of Autopilot", the study highlights how smartphones are designed to hook us, making willpower alone useless against default notifications and infinite scrolls. While directionless scrolling can offer quick entertainment, it often leaves users feeling worse afterward. Psychologists note that while people frequently exaggerate their self-reported screen time, noticing the habit is the crucial first step. Could this one question change how you use your smartphone?

A new study found that at least 97 people charged in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot have faced new criminal allegations since 2021, including cases involving violence, fraud, sex crimes, firearms offenses, and DUI charges. At least 19 of those cases reportedly occurred after President Donald Trump granted clemency to nearly all January 6 defendants at the start of his second term. Supporters argue many rioters were unfairly prosecuted and deserved pardons, while critics say the findings raise questions about accountability and the message such clemency sends.
