About Those Student Loan Repayments
The SAVE student loan plan is officially dead, and roughly seven million borrowers are being shoved into a financial scramble. Beginning July 1, the Trump administration is triggering a strict 90-day countdown to force borrowers off the defunct Biden-era plan.
What do we actually need to know right now? If you do nothing, the government will automatically dump you into a rigid Standard 10-year plan, which could make your monthly bills skyrocket. Instead, most of the borrowers will be staring down two primary paths: the existing Income-Based Repayment (IBR) plan or the brand-new Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP). "Most borrowers will be better off in IBR," higher education expert Mark Kantrowitz tells Forbes, noting that IBR offers a 20-year path to forgiveness compared to RAP’s grueling 30-year timeline. Plus, RAP is not indexed for inflation, meaning minor raises or cost-of-living adjustments could accidentally double your monthly payments over time.

How Tariff Refunds Are Turning Out
Shippers and retail giants like Walmart and Target are lining up for massive payouts after a February Supreme Court ruling struck down the core of President Donald Trump’s trade policy. The administration has already completed $20.6 billion of an expected $85 billion in tariff refunds, admitting its country-specific duties exceeded federal authority. However, everyday shoppers eager for relief from 3.8% inflation shouldn't expect lower prices. Experts note that most corporate duties remain untouched, and Trump quickly countered the ruling with a blanket 10% global tariff under a separate law.
In a parallel bid to curb rising living costs, the administration relaxed Biden-era environmental rules to delay phasing out cheap, climate-harming grocery refrigerants. While Trump claims this secures a $2 billion annual consumer break, industry manufacturing groups warn that sudden regulatory chaos could actually backfire, driving up supermarket service costs instead.
The LA Mayor Market Ends June 2. The Odds Are Moving Now.
Karen Bass is at 68%. Spencer Pratt at 27%. Over $21 million is already trading on the Los Angeles Mayor race on Kalshi — and the prices are shifting every day as local news breaks. The window to get in before the consensus hardens is closing. The best prediction market trades happen before everyone agrees on the outcome. That moment is right now, before June 2. Peer-to-peer, no house, cash out anytime. Trade $10, get $10 free to start.
Trade responsibly.

America’s Injection Obsession
America has officially entered the "Needle Age". In the '90s, daily rituals meant loading up the plastic pillbox with cholesterol meds and antidepressants. Today? We are casually jabbing ourselves with syringes.
Driven by the massive weight-loss craze of Ozempic and Mounjaro, an astounding 12% of US adults used GLP-1 injections last year alone. Add in millions of self-administered IVF hormone shots, a booming "puncture parlor" medical spa culture offering everything from Botox to IV vitamin drips, and tech bros stacking experimental peptides, and it is clear that Americans are obsessed with the needle's potency.

Parents are increasingly opening up about children’s explosive screen-time meltdowns that feel far bigger than ordinary tantrums. Some experts say kids are simply struggling with emotional regulation and transitions. Others argue today’s games, apps, and endless-scroll platforms are intentionally engineered to create compulsive behavior that mimics addiction. Either way, many families say the cycle is exhausting: extending screen time to avoid chaos, feeling guilty afterward, then repeating it the next day. And for a lot of parents, the hardest part is the shame and isolation around admitting how bad things sometimes get.
